December 5th

Happy Holidays!
Our trips to the Bay Area for Erick's interviews and to Tucson for Thanksgiving went great. The girls handled the plane well; the engine noise was just the white noise they needed to konk out. The car rides were another story. Let's just say the drive from Phoenix to Tucson was not peaceful. We are headed to Minneapolis tomorrow. Sue, E's mom, the girls, and I are flying in the early am. Erick is driving with his Dad and Sadie. We are excited to see family and friends and for Erick to do more interviews.
The girls had their 4 month check up this week and they both are gaining good weight. Em is 11 lbs 5 oz and Meera is 11 lbs 10 oz. Em has stayed on her curve of 15 percentile (gestational age adjusted) and Meera jumped up to 25th percentile. We were relieved to see that Em is gaining well despite her spitting up. They are starting to talk (well, coo) with us a ton and we have even gotten a few belly laughs.
We are sending you all warm holiday wishes. May this season bring you happiness, joy and peace.
love to you all,
Nat, Erick, Meera, Emma, and Sadie
P.S. Sorry the photos are all scrambled again!

Nov 12, 2008

Happy Fall! It has been wonderful watching all the trees change. The girls are more observant on our walks and seem to be taking in the colors too. My sister, Heather, and my aunt, Dolores, are here helping us for a few weeks. They have been incredible with the girls and are feeding us well. Our friends Dave (fm Mpls) and Emily (fm Hawaii) visited us for a few days as well. It was great to see them and so fun for them to meet and spend some QT with the girls.

We have returned our scale and are done tracking the girls' weight so closely. We weighed them last Monday and Meera was 10 lls 7 oz and Emma was 10 lbs 5 oz. They are steadily growing along the 10th percentile growth curve (which is just what we want).

E, the girls and I are all going to San Francisco on the 17th, then we are off to Tucson for Thanksgiving. We are hoping our travels go smoothly. We will only be home for one week early in December before heading to the midwest for more residency interviews and to spend the holidays with our family. It will all certainly be an adventure!
Hope you all are well,
love,
Nat, Erick, Meera, Emma, and Sade

11.3.08

Hello! I can't believe the big day is tomorrow. All of the J-Ds are waiting with bated breath to see who will be our next president.
I survived a few days on my own thanks to help from my friends Heather and Kee. We all can't wait for Erick to be done with his anesthesiology rotation. Two more weeks to go.

Grandpa Kris and Grandma Sue visited for the weekend and got lots of opportunities to soothe babies. My aunt D and sister are here now until we go to San Francisco Nov 17th, when Erick interviews with UCSF and Stanford (yes, Stanford!).
Here is a make-shift mobile I created for Em (she is a very visual baby). Our friend Tracy saw this and decided to loan us her baby center. Both babies love it. Thanks Tracy!

We weighed the girls tonight and Emma is 10.0 lbs and Meera is 10 lbs 2 oz. Em gained more this week without any replacement supplementation - we are hoping this means she is turning a corner!

More photos of D and Head's visit to come soon.
love,
N, E, M, E & S
