tucson for thanksgiving

Hello All, We had a great time visitng Nana Sue and Grandpa Kris in Tucson for an early Thanksgiving trip. We all swam daily and soaked up the sun. It was a great to have a break from our crazy lives. Our trip home was quite humorous - flight canceled, spent 4+hrs in the airport, babies refused Erick, they got to bed 3 hrs late, and our luggage was lost. But honestly, it was all worth it. Meera & Emma are absolutely amazing. They continue to change daily and are such crack-ups! Emma loves to shrug her shoulders and put her hands up as if she is saying "where is it?" (it being anything from the cat to the sippy cup she just threw on the ground). Meera has mastered the "So Big!" arms in the air move. Emma is walking all around, and now Meera does the same as long as we hold her hands. She just started PT for her "benign central hypotonia" and now we will start giving her daily massages and trying to get her in the swim pool more often. She has made huge improvements and continues to develop at her own pace.
Erick is busy with his Path residency. The daily commute has been a bit brutal with the sub-freezing temps. He traveled to Chile in October to present a paper at the International Society of Dermatopathogy Conference. Fortunately for me, John (Erick's dad) came to help me with the babies. My new position at Women's Healthcare Associates has been rewarding, fun, and challenging. I have really enjoyed working there thus far, though it is hard to be away from the girls. We are headed to Mpls this weekend for an early Christmas w/ our fam. I think my parents started counting down the days about a month ago. I am sure we will have plenty of photos from that trip as well.
Love to you all,
team MEENS

Sister Heather composes a post !

Hi! This is Heather.... I wanted to do a favor for the sis, so I've attempted to update the blog, for all those who weren't lucky enough to spend 3 weeks in Oregon with the Jacobson-Dunlops, like I was. This is a picture of me with Emma on my first day in Portland...
Already bonded, right?
for videos go to: www.youtube.com/user/hahalaughsalot

and watch the quick list.

Also, these pictures and videos can be downloaded. Double click on the pictures for the several MB view. Cool, right?

Meera and Erick were equally overjoyed to have me around. We had a good time dancing

There were many days that passed before I got here though, and the blog will catch you up now.

And a quick note on the parents in this troupe. While they are behind the camera, they are also writing abstracts and papers (ie Natalie's paper published in the September Journal of Midwifery and Women's health), working as a CNM and resident, and biking to work. I was impressed beyond measure at the attention which which they lavished their children and the orderliness of their very long days.

There's a great youtube video of Meera with her two dollies. So adorable!!

Natalie and Erick like to take the little women to the water park, and Meera and Emma like it too! These records were taken back in August 09. The babes were warm as they were wet!

Happy girls!

Children's Museum

I wasn't here this particular instance, but I know this room! This is the toddler room at the Children's museum, a place where new discoveries could be made even with daily visits.

I have rarely seen such adventurous behavior from little people!!

Washington Park in Portland

I was lucky enough to spend time at this local Multnoma Village park almost every day. We would walk there in the stroller, maybe 2k away. I'm so sad our time together ended so soon!
